Game Of Thrones Episode 9 – Baelor

13 Jun

I like how the opening keeps on adding new ‘areas’, it puts me in mind of games where new regions unlock as you play further. Should have saved before leaving the Eyrie, though, looks like that part’s blocked off now.

Loved the utterly casual delivery of “Before they cut my balls off with a hot knife.” Varys rises in my ‘favourite character’ ranks by the episode.

This really isn’t a good show for horses. If you’re a horse, you don’t want to be anywhere NEAR Game of Thrones.

Tyrion and Bronn, I love their chemistry. Also, “It’s fun! Look at the fun we’re having!”

All right, so seeing Tyrion in full armour was kind of awesome.

Oh far out Joffrey is such a perfect little git.

…and Yoren just catapaulted himself up about five places in my ‘favourite characters’ list.

Not So Yay

Dothraki stuff continues to not-quite-enthral, leaving me with the overall feeling that I’d rather just be told about all of this stuff so I could get more Arya and Littlefinger and Varys and Tyrion time–you know, characters I actually care about and enjoy. Also, use of actual magic was kind of jarring. Also also, I don’t know, everything happened all at once and far too quickly, I just didn’t quite buy it.

Ned’s fate. Inevitable, but still terrible. Especially the way it happened.

There’s just one episode left in this season.

And So

Oh, I’m going to miss this show when it’s gone. It’s just as well the new season of Breaking Bad is coming up.

Also, if Arya doesn’t get to at least beat up Joffrey I’ll be upset.
